Chicago’s Strategic Location
Chicago is strategically located in the central U.S., and has many transportation methods available, depending on your preference and budget.
For a more scenic, laid-back travel option, consider traveling Greyhound buses or Amtrak trains. Both stations will take you directly into downtown Chicago. If you prefer cheap Chicago flights, there are three airports to choose from: Midway, O’Hare, and Meigs Field.
Many airlines offer direct flights to Chicago—finding a flight to meet your needs should be a piece of cake.
Major-League Sports
Chicago has many major-league sports teams, some you know and some you may not know. The Chicago Bears take Solder Field each fall to tackle opponents and move the pig-skin along the field. Solder field is recently renovated, and is home to Chicago’s other “football” team, the Chicago Fire soccer team.
Hockey aficionados can see the Blackhawks tear up the ice and their rivals at the United Center when the Bulls aren’t playing. Enjoy hotdogs and a cold brew while watching the dance moves of the Luvabulls or Benny the Bull.

For an all-American game experience, see the Cubs at one of baseball history’s famous landmarks, Wrigley Field. Enjoy pre-game festivities in Wrigleyville (the area of shops, restaurants, and pubs surrounding Wrigley) before venturing inside to see a home-run fly over the iconic, ivy-covered outfield walls. The White Sox play at U.S. Cellular Field.
Collegiate Teams
The Chicago metro area is home to seven Division I NCAA teams. Within the city limits, four teams stake their claims within the collegiate arena: the DePaul Blue Demons, the Chicago State Cougars, the Loyola Ramblers, and the UIC Flames.
